LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Bill Thompson upon the occasion of his
designation as THE CITIZEN 2009 Father of the Year

WHEREAS, Individuals who devote their lives to raising their families to
enable them to build lives of dignity and self-worth are deserving of
the highest praise and recognition; and
WHEREAS, Bill Thompson has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his love, competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special honor by THE CITIZEN, which
serves Wantagh, New York, and the surrounding communities; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Bill Thomp-
son upon the occasion of his designation as THE CITIZEN 2009 Father of
the Year; and
WHEREAS, Bill Thompson is the loving husband of Carol and the proud
father of three daughters, Caitlin, 19, Shannon, 16, and Tara, 14; and
WHEREAS, Bill Thompson is a native of Wantagh, New York, and is the
youngest of five boys; he attributes his parenting skills to his father
which he fine tuned to fit his own style in raising his daughters; and
WHEREAS, Known for his incredible sense of humor, Bill Thompson is a
man of singular distinction who would do anything for his family and
friends; and
WHEREAS, Nominated by his daughter, Shannon, Bill Thompson takes pride
in his family and they, in turn, respect the value of fatherhood; and
WHEREAS, Bill Thompson represents a model of professional, community
and family life worthy of emulation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Bill Thompson upon the occasion of his designation as THE CITI-
ZEN 2009 Father of the Year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bill Thompson, 1344 Lakeside Drive, Wantagh, New York.
