LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Hanford Mills Museum upon the occasion
of receiving the Arnold Banker Tourism Property Award from the Delaware
County Chamber of Commerce on September 17, 2009

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the quality of
life of our citizens is greatly enriched by those exceptional recre-
ational destinations and businesses which enhance commerce and increase
tourism to our majestic Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Hanford Mills Museum upon the occasion of receiving the Arnold Banker
Tourism Property Award from the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce at
its Annual Awards Dinner to be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009, at
Andes Hotel and Restaurant, Andes, New York; and
WHEREAS, Each year, Hanford Mills Museum welcomes over 8,000 visitors,
who experience the power of history as they explore the history of
power; and
WHEREAS, Liz Callahan, the esteemed Director of Hanford Mills Museum,
has participated in and encouraged county-wide and regional tourism
collaborations, and has worked closely with Delaware County's tourism
program; and
WHEREAS, Hanford Mills Museum is deeply committed to celebrating and
promoting all of Delaware County's rich resources, while it continues to
serve the educational, cultural and intellectual needs of the community;
and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional Museum and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Hanford Mills Museum upon the occasion of receiving the Arnold
Banker Tourism Property Award from the Delaware County Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Liz Callahan, Director, Hanford Mills Museum.
