LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Dr. Akram Boutros upon the occasion of
his designation for special honor at the RotaCare Caregivers Ball on
October 16, 2009

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State with
their strong contributions to the community and model citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Dr. Akram Boutros upon the occasion of his designation for special honor
at the RotaCare Caregivers Ball on October 16, 2009; and
WHEREAS, The President of PatientFirst, Dr. Akram Boutros is a
seasoned healthcare executive whose leadership in enterprise excellence
has a successful 15-year track record with hospitals and healthcare
operations, including St. Francis Hospital -- The Heart Center in
Roslyn, South Nassau Communities Hospital and Winthrop-University Hospi-
tal; and
WHEREAS, Currently the founder and President of i3 Business Perform-
ance Solutions, Dr. Akram Boutros is leading a restructuring of a $1
billion multi-hospital health system's clinical offerings post-bankrupt-
cy; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard
Business School, Dr. Akram Boutros is recognized as a thought leader in
management systems; he serves as an advisor to several multi-national
and Fortune 500 executives and is a widely published author on a variety
of health management subjects; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Dr. Akram Boutros is an immediate past president
of the Long Island region of the American Heart Association and lectures
at several academic institutions, including Harvard Business School and
the Health Sciences Center at SUNY Stony Brook; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Dr. Akram Boutros upon the occasion of his designation for
special honor at the RotaCare Caregivers Ball on October 16, 2009, and
to wish him continued success in all of his future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Akram Boutros.
