LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Deborah Bain upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition after 15 years of dedicated service
to the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York on November 19, 2009

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge those individuals of remarkable integrity and char-
acter who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State
with their strong contributions to the community and model citizenship;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Deborah Bain upon the occasion of her designation for special recogni-
tion after 15 years of dedicated service to the Epilepsy Foundation of
Northeastern New York at its Annual Awards Dinner to be held on Thurs-
day, November 19, 2009, at Wolfert's Roost Country Club, Albany, New
York; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New
York is to ensure people with seizures are able to participate in all
life experiences and to prevent, control and cure epilepsy through
services, education, advocacy and research; and
WHEREAS, As everyday residents of Northeastern New York face the phys-
ical, emotional and social uncertainties of epilepsy, the Epilepsy Foun-
dation is there to help those with epilepsy to grow to become happy,
self-confident and productive adults, by offering them, as well as their
friends, families and caregivers a variety of programs; and
WHEREAS, As the Program Coordinator for the Epilepsy Foundation of
Northeastern New York, Deborah Bain has been called upon to contribute
her time and talents to countless endeavors on behalf of the Epilepsy
Foundation of Northeastern New York and has always given of herself
unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Deborah Bain provides invaluable education and vital informa-
tion about epilepsy to families affected by this disorder; she also
manages many of the Foundation's special programs, including summer camp
and college scholarships; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary leader, Deborah Bain works tirelessly to
increase awareness about epilepsy and help all those who are affected to
better understand the condition; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her 15 years of service, a
period of constructive involvement, Deborah Bain has continually demon-
strated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence and diligent
leadership in her unwavering service to the Epilepsy Foundation of
Northeastern New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the wellbeing and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence have earned the recognition
and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Deborah Bain upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition after 15 years of dedicated service to the Epilepsy Founda-
tion of Northeastern New York on November 19, 2009; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Deborah Bain.
