LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Francesco A. Ragona,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of his community

WHEREAS, It is with great sorrow and deep regret that this Legislative
Body records the passing of Francesco A. Ragona of Elmont, New York, who
died on November 18, 2009, at the age of 50; and
WHEREAS, The son of the late Tony and Sally Ragona, Francesco A. Rago-
na grew up in Floral Park, New York; he later moved to Elmont, where he
was a proud and active member of the community, serving as President of
the Board of Education of the Elmont Union Free School District and Vice
President of the East End Civic Association; and
WHEREAS, Francesco A. Ragona is survived by his wife, Rosalie; their
two children, Matthew and Francesca; his two brothers, Rosario and his
wife, Susan, and Philip and his wife, Josette; and many nieces and neph-
ews, all of whom felt privileged to be a part of his life and rejoiced
in his many achievements; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit, imbued with a sense of
compassion, and comforted by a loving family, Francesco A. Ragona leaves
behind a legacy which will long endure the passage of time and will
remain as a comforting memory to all he served and befriended; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Francesco A. Ragona, distinguished citizen and
devoted member of his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Francesco A. Ragona.
