LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Gregory T. Cerchione upon the occasion
of receiving the HeartShare Genie Foundation Award from HeartShare Human
Services of New York on March 25, 2010

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Gregory T. Cerchione upon the occasion of receiving the Heartshare Genie
Foundation Award from HeartShare Human Services of New York at its 2010
Spring Gala and Auction to be held at the New York Marriott Marquis
Broadway Ballroom on Thursday, March 25, 2010; and
WHEREAS, A man of singular distinction, Gregory T. Cerchione has
continually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence
and diligent leadership in his unwavering service to his community and
profession; and
WHEREAS, Gregory T. Cerchione is a managing and litigating partner of
Subin Associates L.L.P. and concentrates his law practice in plaintiff's
personal injury; he is also an appointed member of the New York State
Appellate Division, Second Department Committees on Character and
Fitness for the 2nd, 10th, 11th and 13th Judicial Districts; he has
interviewed and screened applicants to the New York State Bar since
2002; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Gregory T. Cerchione chairs the Brooklyn Bar
Association Grievance Committee and serves on several Judicial Screening
Committees; he is a Past President of the Brooklyn Bar Association, the
Columbian Lawyers Association of Brooklyn and the Catholic Lawyers Guild
of Brooklyn; he is a sustaining member of the New York State Bar Associ-
ation and the New York State Bar Association Foundation; a Barrister
with the Nathan R. Sobel Kings County American Inns of Court and a
Director of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association; and
WHEREAS, Despite his busy professional life, Gregory T. Cerchione has
been called upon to contribute his time and talents to countless endeav-
ors and has always given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Gregory T. Cerchione is Knight of the Equestrian Order of the
Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, a Third Degree Knight of Columbus, serves
as recording Secretary to the Mary Queen of Heaven Advisory School Board
and is an active member of the Bergen Beach (Brooklyn) Youth Organiza-
tion; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of his efforts of in-depth magnitude, Gregory
T. Cerchione has received numerous awards and accolades; he was
presented the Special Recognition Award by the Brooklyn Woman's Bar
Association in 2003, the Brooklyn Bar Association Annual Award in 2007
and, in 2009, received the Catholic Lawyers Saint Thomas More Award, the
Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Leadership Award and the
Greater New York Councils' Annual Boy Scouts of America "Outstanding
Community Service Award"; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Gregory T. Cerchione has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Gregory T. Cerchione has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and

sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Gregory T. Cerchione upon the occasion of receiving the HeartShare
Genie Foundation Award from HeartShare Human Services of New York on
March 25, 2010; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gregory T. Cerchione.
