LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jesse Anser upon the occasion of his
selection as a Warwick Valley High School Student-Athlete of the Week

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jesse Anser
upon the occasion of his recognition, announced in the WARWICK VALLEY
DISPATCH's March 3, 2010 edition, as a Warwick Valley High School
Student-Athlete of the Week; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Jesse Anser has distinguished
himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and maturity,
establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of
life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Junior standout skier Jesse Anser recently won NYSPHSAA's
(New York State Public High School Athletic Association) Triple Crown in
Boys Skiing, winning the Slalom and Giant Slalom against the top skiers
in New York State at Bristol Mountain in Canandaigua, New York; and
WHEREAS, His combined times were also good enough to be named the
Boys' Combined Overall Champion and he helped his Warwick Valley High
School teammates win the Section 9 Division Championship this winter;
and
WHEREAS, Jesse Anser is a good student carrying a B average; he takes
his skiing, which he began at age three, very seriously; he spends much
of his time in the winter training with his high school team and, on
weekends, competes for the USSA Racing Team at Mount Peter; and
WHEREAS, He has, in addition, been invited to attend the Eastern State
Championships in Vermont to compete against the top skiers in the north-
east; and
WHEREAS, Jesse Anser is an exceptionally focused young man; he has set
a high bar for himself and displays the competitive spirit in skiing
demonstrated at the recent 2010 Winter Olympic games; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Jesse Anser,
the son of Karin and Keith Anser of Warwick, a junior at Warwick Valley
High School, has certainly brought honor to his family, school, and
community; and
WHEREAS, Jesse Anser may stand with pride in his achievements, experi-
encing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he continues
his athletic competition and his education; and
WHEREAS, Jesse Anser represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jesse Anser upon the occasion of his selection as a New York State
Boys Ski Champion and Warwick Valley High School Student-Athlete of the
Week and to wish him well in his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jesse Anser.
