LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Jacqueline and Laurier Trahan upon
the occasion of their 50th Wedding Anniversary

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging
significant milestones in the distinguished lives of its esteemed resi-
dents; and
WHEREAS, Jacqueline and Laurier Trahan celebrated their 50th Wedding
Anniversary on April 12, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Jacqueline Galvin and Laurier Trahan met at the wedding of
Laurier's cousin, Henriette; and
WHEREAS, They were united in marriage on April 12, 1958; and
WHEREAS, Jacqueline enjoyed a successful and diverse career, working
at Royal Electrics, Miller Electrics, Hasenfeld Toys, and retiring from
Campbell Plastics in 1993; and
WHEREAS, Laurier served his country in the Marine Corps; after being
honorably discharged he continued serving as an engine mechanic at Quon-
set Naval Air Station and as a machinist at the Watervliet Arsenal
before retiring in 1989; and
WHEREAS, They are the proud parents of Laurie, Deborah, Christine,
Kathleen and Neal Trahan; and
WHEREAS, They have also been blessed with 13 grandchildren, Laurier,
Dana, Brittany, Hannah, Abbi, Alyssa, Julian, Ian, Joshua, David,
Jarrod, Nathan, and Ella; and
WHEREAS, Their loving and enduring marriage is an inspiration to their
family and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Jacqueline and Laurier Trahan upon the occasion of cele-
brating their 50th Wedding Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jacqueline and Laurier Trahan.
