LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Pam Bren Goldschmidt upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition by the UJA Federation of New
York on May 13, 2010

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Pam
Bren Goldschmidt upon the occasion of her designation for special recog-
nition by the UJA Federation of New York at its 2010 Annual Luncheon to
be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at the Old Oaks Country Club,
Purchase, New York; and
WHEREAS, A woman of singular distinction, Pam Bren Goldschmidt has
continually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence
and diligent leadership in her unwavering service to both her community
and profession; and
WHEREAS, A founder and partner at Goldschmidt & Associates, a Scars-
dale-based commercial and retail real-estate brokerage firm serving the
tristate area, Pam Bren Goldschmidt entered the field of commercial real
estate more than 25 years ago -- a time when women were rare in the
industry; and
WHEREAS, She since has worked with many of the top national and
regional retailers for prominent locations in the area; she was instru-
mental in transforming the Village of Scarsdale into a prominent down-
town retail hub; and
WHEREAS, Despite her busy professional life, Pam Bren Goldschmidt has
been called upon to contribute her time and talents to countless civic
and charitable endeavors and has always given of herself unstintingly;
and
WHEREAS, A UJA-Federation of New York Lion of Judah for more than 12
years, Pam Bren Goldschmidt has chaired many events, including Paceset-
ter, Super Sunday, and Mitzvah Day; among her other philanthropic bene-
ficiaries is the Rogosin Institute in New York City, a not-for-profit
treatment and research center focusing on kidney disease; she considers
her greatest gift the donation of her kidney in March 2008 to her son,
Adam, who required a transplant; and
WHEREAS, Pam Bren Goldschmidt graduated from the University of Bridge-
port with a Master of Science in education; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Eric, her son,
Adam, her stepdaughters, Lisa and Jenna, and her grandchildren, Jadyn
and Gavin, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and
rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Pam Bren Goldschmidt has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Pam Bren Goldschmidt upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the UJA Federation of New York on May 13, 2010;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Pam Bren Goldschmidt.
