LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending James Lyttle upon the occasion of his
retirement after many dedicated years of distinguished public service as
Executive Director of the Sullivan County Office for the Aging

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
James Lyttle upon the occasion of his retirement after many dedicated
years of distinguished public service as Executive Director of the
Sullivan County Office for the Aging; and
WHEREAS, James Lyttle has rendered 25 years of distinguished career
public service in the Sullivan County Office for the Aging; and
WHEREAS, Beginning his work as a Coordinator of Services at the Sulli-
van County Office for the Aging, James Lyttle served under former Direc-
tor, Jim Galligan, and then assumed the Office of Director himself in
1995; and
WHEREAS, Proud of his quarter-century of service at the Sullivan Coun-
ty Office for the Aging, from Meals on Wheels to the Caregiver Program
to Minority/SSI Outreach, James Lyttle also supervised Adult Protective
Services and the transportation program for the aged; and
WHEREAS, James Lyttle is particularly proud of his successful efforts
to expand the Meals on Wheels program to seven days per week, institut-
ing the In-Home Service program, and maintaining a good reputation with
the citizens of Sullivan County; and
WHEREAS, Intending to remain active, James Lyttle will continue as
Chairman of the Thompson Planning Board and as a member of the Board of
the Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless; and
WHEREAS, James Lyttle and his wife, Sandy, plan to travel and enjoy
their life in Kiamesha Lake where they have resided for 38 years; and
WHEREAS, For 25 years, James Lyttle has rendered faithful, conscien-
tious and valuable public service to the Sullivan County Office for the
Aging; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend James Lyttle upon the occasion of his retirement after many
dedicated years of distinguished public service as Executive Director of
the Sullivan County Office for the Aging; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to James Lyttle, P.O. Box 323, Kiamesha Lake, New York 12751.
