LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kyle Westcott upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2010 Citizen of the Year Award by the
Sidney Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Kyle
Westcott upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2010
Citizen of the Year Award by the Sidney Chamber of Commerce; this auspi-
cious occasion will be celebrated at the Chamber's Annual Dinner, to be
held on Friday, June 4, 2010, at the Sidney Elks Lodge in Sidney, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Kyle Westcott has been an active member and director of the
Sidney Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Having served as President, and currently Secretary, of the
Rotary Club of Sidney, Kyle Westcott has also been involved with the
Gridiron Club, Indian Guides and innumerable other youth oriented activ-
ities; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Kyle Westcott has recently joined the Board of
Directors of the United Way of Sidney; he has also volunteered to make
space available at the Sidney Great American Store for the local food
bank, spearheaded holiday food drives, and assisted with the annual
Relay for Life fundraisers; and
WHEREAS, Kyle Westcott has made a positive impact on and brought a
high level of commitment to all the volunteer organizations he has
served; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Kyle Westcott has
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the
respect and admiration of his colleagues, family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Kyle Westcott has displayed through-
out his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kyle Westcott upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2010 Citizen of the Year Award by the Sidney Chamber of Commerce;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kyle Westcott, 2592 County Road 35, Bainbridge, New York
