LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring William G. Boulter upon the occasion of
receiving the 2010 Patriot of the Year Award from the Webster Knights of
Columbus on October 9, 2010

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who devote themselves to the welfare of the commu-
nity and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
William G. Boulter upon the occasion of receiving the 2010 Patriot of
the Year Award from the Webster Knights of Columbus at a dinner to be
held at the Webster Columbus Center on Saturday, October 9, 2010; and
WHEREAS, As the President and Chief Executive Officer of Boulter
Rigging Corp., William G. Boulter has continually demonstrated extreme
competence, extraordinary intelligence and diligent leadership in his
unwavering service to his community and consequently has been designated
for this most prestigious commendation; and
WHEREAS, William G. Boulter grew up in Spencerport, New York; upon
graduation from high school, he attended Rochester Business Institute
and the Rochester Institute of Technology where he studied transporta-
tion; and
WHEREAS, In 1964, William G. Boulter joined the family business, Boul-
ter Rigging Corp., as a truck driver; the company has a long and distin-
guished history beginning in 1892, delivering coal and ice in the
Rochester, New York region with a horse and buggy; eventually furniture
was also delivered; in 1924 the company became Rochester's first motor-
ized carting company; by the 1950s the company had grown into a large
household carrier for such firms as Global, Greyhound, and Lyon van
lines; and
WHEREAS, In 1972, William G. Boulter began the carting company's part-
ner firm, Boulter Rigging, which now provides hauling services for more
than 150 commercial accounts for both long and short distances; and
WHEREAS, William G. Boulter's business focuses on the relocation of
heavy machinery, material handling, conveyor systems, transportation and
warehousing and steel fabrication; the firm provides services with its
own fleet of power equipment and 150 trailers; and
WHEREAS, Today, William G. Boulter oversees 55 employees as well as a
beautiful facility consisting of corporate offices and warehousing
spreading over 300,000 square feet in the Basket Road industrial area;
and
WHEREAS, Despite his busy professional life, William G. Boulter has
been called upon to contribute his time and talents to countless civic
and charitable endeavors and has always given of himself unstintingly;
and
WHEREAS, William G. Boulter is a member of the Webster Chamber of
Commerce and has served as a member of its Board of Directors for the
last three years; an exemplary leader, he is committed to help build
Webster, New York's industrial and commercial base; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, William G. Boulter has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Sherry, their four
children, and one grandchild, all of whom feel privileged to be a part
of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which William G. Boulter has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all the
citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor William G. Boulter upon the occasion of receiving the 2010 Patriot
of the Year Award from the Webster Knights of Columbus on October 9,
2010; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to William G. Boulter.
