LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Frances T. Barbieri upon the occasion
of her designation as the 2010 Honoree by the Seneca Falls/Waterloo
Kiwanis Club

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Frances T. Barbieri has given not only of her time and ener-
gies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Frances T.
(Fran) Barbieri upon the occasion of her designation as the 2010 Honoree
by the Seneca Falls/Waterloo Kiwanis Club to be celebrated at a Roast
held in her honor on Friday, October 29, 2010, at the Holiday Inn; and
WHEREAS, Born on June 2, 1951, in Seneca Falls, New York, to Anthony
and Frances Barbieri, Fran graduated from Mynderse Academy High School,
Seneca Falls, New York; she then earned a Bachelor of Science degree
from SUNY Oswego; and
WHEREAS, Frances T. Barbieri is a valuable employee with the Seneca
Falls Historical Society; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding woman has been called upon to contribute her
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, She is a member of the Seneca Falls Historical Society Auxil-
iary, the St. Anthony Commission, St. Patrick's Guild and Altar, Cathol-
ic Daughters, the Convention Days Committee, It's A Wonderful Life
Committee, and the Seneca County Council of the Arts; furthermore, she
is a past president of the Seneca Falls/Waterloo Kiwanis Club; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Frances T. Barbieri has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Frances T. Barbieri has been the recipient of numerous awards
and accolades, some of which include: the 1999 Women's Coalition Woman
of the Year Award; the 1994 Father Beatini Award; a 2004 New York State
Senate Woman of Distinction; and the 2000 NOW Unsung Hero Award; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Frances T. Barbieri has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Frances T. Barbieri upon the occasion of her designation as the
2010 Honoree by the Seneca Falls/Waterloo Kiwanis Club; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Frances T. Barbieri, 2895 Garden Street Extension, Seneca
Falls, New York 13148.
