LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Sally F. Morrone, distin-
guished citizen and devoted member of her community
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Sally F. Morrone of Norwich, New York died on February 25,
2009, at the age of 66; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Edward and Laura Owens, Sally F. Morrone was
born on June 18, 1942 in Syracuse, New York; she grew up in Tully and
moved with her family, first to Oswego and then to Sidney where she
graduated from Sidney High School with the Class of 1960; and
WHEREAS, Sally F. Morrone attended Potsdam University before returning
to Sidney to work at the Bendix Corporation; in 1981, she began working
at the Chenango County Board of Elections and retired in 2001; and
WHEREAS, A member of St. Bartholomew's Church, Sally F. Morrone was
very active in the PTA and the many school activities of her growing
children, as well as serving as a member of the Chenango Memorial Hospi-
tal Auxiliary, for whom she made lots of cookies for the residents of
the hospital nursing home; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Sally F. Morrone enjoyed cross stitching and
several of her art works hang at Christman Motors and at the Northeast
Classic Car Museum; she also enjoyed traveling and the camaraderie of
the Auto Dealers Association and playing golf at Canasawacta Country
Club, where she was a member; and
WHEREAS, Sally F. Morrone is survived by her husband, Thomas L.
Morrone; her children, Mary Anne Dean and Jan Papelino, Thomas Morrone
Jr. and his wife, Ann, and Kimberly Mack and her husband, David; and her
seven grandchildren, Thomas, Mary Frances and Abigail Dean, Maggie,
Thomas III and Katie Morrone and Dylan Mack, all of whom felt privileged
to be a part of her life and rejoiced in her many achievements; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit, imbued with a sense of
compassion, and comforted by a loving family, Sally F. Morrone leaves
behind a legacy which will long endure the passage of time and will
remain as a comforting memory to all she served and befriended; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Sally F. Morrone, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of her community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Sally F. Morrone.
