LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom,
LLP upon the occasion of receiving the Benefactor of Justice Award from
Legal Services of the Hudson Valley

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those noteworthy individuals and institutions that distin-
guish themselves through professional excellence and purposeful lives of
service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP upon the occasion of receiving
the Benefactor of Justice Award from Legal Services of the Hudson
Valley; and
WHEREAS, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP was founded in 1948
by Marshall H. Skadden, Leslie H. Arps and John H. Slate, who shared a
vision of the firm that continues and thrives today, a commitment to
professionalism and excellence in an atmosphere emphasizing teamwork,
flexibility and responsiveness; and
WHEREAS, With more than 40 practice areas, Skadden, Arps, Slate,
Meagher & Flom, LLP advises clients in matters involving mergers and
acquisitions, litigation and arbitration, corporate finance, corporate
restructuring, securities law, banking, project finance, energy and
infrastructure, antitrust, tax and intellectual property; and
WHEREAS, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP provides a wide
array of legal services to numerous corporate, industrial, financial and
governmental communities around the world; their clients range from a
variety of small, start-up businesses to a substantial number of the 500
largest corporations in the nation and many leading global companies;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and institutions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought
to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the
citizens of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP upon the occasion of
receiving the Benefactor of Justice Award from Legal Services of the
Hudson Valley, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the spar-
kling success which has so characterized its past; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP.
