LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Lou Christopher upon the occasion of his
retirement at 96 years young after 30 years of public service with the
Robach family

WHEREAS, In the course of the evolving development of the Empire State,
there have emerged certain public servants of truly magnanimous conduct
and bearing; we call these individuals "distinguished citizens" of the
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend such a
distinguished public servant, Lou Christopher, upon the occasion of his
retirement at 96 years young after 30 years of public service with the
Robach family; and
WHEREAS, Lou Christopher began his tenure with the Robach family in
1974, when Roger Robach won his first term in the Assembly; after
Roger's passing in 1991, Lou continued on the staff of Joe Robach who
was elected to the seat vacated by his father and later to the New York
State Senate; and
WHEREAS, Prior to his diligent service in the Legislature, Lou Chris-
topher had a distinguished career with the Eastman Kodak Company, where
he began working as a laborer in 1942, and retired as a foreman in 1971;
and
WHEREAS, Lou Christopher is not only someone dedicated to public
service, he epitomizes citizenship in every way humanly possible; he is
a role model for how to better your community, be active in your govern-
ment and be a good neighbor; he is a true champion of people; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Lou Christopher has always been actively
involved in community projects such as running the St. Anthony's Day
Festival; he is also known as an unofficial chronicler of Charlotte and
Rochester history; and
WHEREAS, Lou Christopher's love for public service is only trumped by
his love of his family; he has been married to Louise (Falone) Christo-
pher, his childhood sweetheart, since 1937; they are the proud parents
of Joan and Bernie and are blessed with three grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate blend-
ing of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that demon-
strated by Lou Christopher over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication
to others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Lou Christopher upon the occasion of his retirement at 96 years
young after 30 years of public service with the Robach family; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lou Christopher.
