LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Colleen C. DiPirro upon the occasion
of receiving the Susan B. Anthony Award from the Interclub Council of
Western New York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to publicly recognize
those extraordinary individuals who have made contributions to the
success and progress of society in the course of their life's work; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Colleen C.
DiPirro upon the occasion of receiving the Susan B. Anthony Award from
the Interclub Council of Western New York, on Saturday, March 6, 2010,
in Depew, New York; and
WHEREAS, Growing up in Williamsville, Colleen DiPirro graduated from
Williamsville South High School, and later majored in Marketing at
Alfred State College; in addition, she studied at the Institute of
Organization Management, a professional development program of the
United States Chamber of Commerce at the University of Notre Dame; and
WHEREAS, Colleen DiPirro has worked for the Amherst Chamber of
Commerce for 29 years, beginning as the only staff person with a member-
ship of 180; today, she is President and Chief Executive Officer, and
the Chamber's current membership is over 2,000; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Colleen DiPirro has established integ-
rity, common purpose, and commitment to excellence within the Amherst
Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Active in her community, Colleen DiPirro is affiliated with
the Buffalo Bills Alumni Advisory Board, the Williamsville Community
Education Foundation Board, the Canisius Women's Business Center Board,
the Erie County Council on Economic Development, and the UNYTS Board of
Directors, to name a few; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Colleen DiPirro has been called upon
to contribute her time and talents to countless civic and charitable
endeavors and has always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Colleen DiPirro has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her two sons, Keith and Kevin,
as well as her three grandchildren, Drew, Luke and Joseph, all of whom
feel privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achieve-
ments; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the life in their community and have shown a long and sustained
commitment to excellence certainly have earned recognition and applause;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Colleen C. DiPirro upon the occasion of receiving the Susan B.
Anthony Award from the Interclub Council of Western New York; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Colleen C. DiPirro.
