LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of David Huse, distinguished
citizen and devoted member of his community
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Born November 3, 1953, in Plainfield, New Jersey, David Huse
was a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill and worked on his family's farm,
Stonebroke Farm, located in the Town of Richmondville; and
WHEREAS, He was a member of the Schoharie County Policy Development
and Executive Committee; the New York State Beef Committee; a Represen-
tative and County Representative of the Farm Bureau; former President,
Vice President and Director of the Farm Bureau; Schoharie County Repre-
sentative for the Concentrated Animal Feed Unit Working Group; the Farm
Bureau Representative to the Four Partners; and a member of the Compre-
hensive Plan Committee for the Town of Richmondville, and the Richmond-
ville Zoning Re-Write Committee; and
WHEREAS, In addition, David Huse was a founder of the Schoharie Valley
Landowners Coalition, the Northeast Livestock Services Coalition, the R.
C. & D. Grass Masters (a USDA Program), the Livestock Committee for New
York Farm Viability Institute, and the U.S. Scenic Route 20 By Way
Committee; and
WHEREAS, David Huse made significant contributions to the agricultural
industry of both Schoharie County and the State of New York; he also
distinguished himself by his sincere dedication and tireless efforts to
bettering the quality of life for the residents of his community- his
passion and determination energizing the many groups of which he was a
part; and
WHEREAS, David Huse of Richmondville, suffered an untimely death on
Monday, June 7, 2010, at the age of 56; and
WHEREAS, The loss and grief felt by his parents, Sylvester and Pauline
"Cam" Huse; his two brothers, Stephen Huse and Jeffry (Audrey) Huse; and
his nieces and nephews, Justin (Sarah) Huse, Stephen Huse, Hannah Huse,
Johannah Huse, and David Huse is collectively shared by his many friends
and neighbors; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit, imbued with a sense of
compassion, and comforted by a loving family, David Huse leaves behind a
legacy which will long endure the passage of time and will remain as a
comforting memory to all he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
celebrate the life and contributions of David Huse, distinguished citi-
zen and devoted member of his community even as it mourns his passing;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted with deepest respect to the family of David Huse.
