LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Keith Jorden upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2008 Steuben County Fire Fighter of the
Year Award by Steuben County Emergency Services

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Keith Jorden
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2008 Steuben
County Fire Fighter of the Year Award by Steuben County Emergency
Services to be celebrated at its Awards Banquet on Saturday, April 4,
2009, at the Hammondsport Fire Station; and
WHEREAS, Keith Jorden, a member of the Woodhull Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment is being commended for more than 25 years of outstanding dedication
to the Steuben County Fire Service; and
WHEREAS, On many occasions, Keith Jorden has acted with bravery and
steady precision in dealing with the risk and drama of emergency situ-
ations; and
WHEREAS, In the performance of his duties, Keith Jorden has demon-
strated his character and his compassion for the welfare of others and
has proven to be a tremendous asset to his community; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body cannot express sufficient gratitude to
those devoted individuals who recognize that the preservation of life is
a sacred responsibility and who make that responsibility their own by
serving as volunteers; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that we should give
special recognition to those who work so assiduously for the betterment
of their communities, and acknowledge publicly the heroic good works
performed by the volunteer fire departments of this great Empire State,
their officers and auxiliaries; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Keith Jorden upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2008 Steuben County Fire Fighter of the Year Award by Steuben County
Emergency Services; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Keith Jorden.
