LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Barbara Wells upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Seneca County Federation of
Sportsmen's Clubs

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Barbara Wells upon the occasion of her designation for special recogni-
tion by the Seneca County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs at its Annual
Banquet; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Wells attended the Waterloo, New York, school system
from kindergarten until her graduation in 1973; and
WHEREAS, Volunteering as a candy striper at the Willard Psychiatric
Center when she was in ninth grade, Barbara Wells started in the Practi-
cal Nurse Program with BOCES and graduated as a Licensed Practical
Nurse; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Wells attended clinical training in Clifton Springs
and the F.F. Thompson hospitals and passed her LPN boards in 1974; and
WHEREAS, In 1979, Barbara Wells began her employment at the Willard
Psychiatric Center, and continued there until shortly before the facili-
ty closed in 1995; and
WHEREAS, A member of the MacDougall Sportsmen's Club since 1988, where
she learned how to shoot trap, Barbara Wells soon became involved with
the Seneca County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs and their annual
banquets, and accepted the job of Club Secretary in 1998; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Barbara Wells is Secretary to the following
groups: Seneca White Deer, Between the Lakes "Friends of NRA," Little
Brown Jug Trap League, MacDougall Sportsmen's and Conservation Associ-
ation, and the New York State Conservation Council; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Wells and her husband, Butch, are the proud parents
of a daughter, Christina, and the loving grandparents of one grandson,
Devin; they have resided on the northeast corner of the Seneca Army
Depot for 33 years, next to the biggest white deer herd in the world;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Barbara Wells has
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the
respect and admiration of her colleagues, family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Barbara Wells has displayed through-
out her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Barbara Wells upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Seneca County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Barbara Wells.
