LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Reale Family of Ticonderoga upon the
occasion of its designation by the Essex County Bar Association as the
recipient of its 2009 Liberty Bell Award on May 1, 2009

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of individuals who
distinguish themselves in their profession and in service to their
community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the
Reale Family of Ticonderoga upon the occasion of its designation by the
Essex County Bar Association as the recipient of the Association's 2009
Liberty Bell Award; and
WHEREAS, The prestigious Liberty Bell Award is given each year by
local bar associations throughout New York State and the nation in
conjunction with the observance of Law Day to honor outstanding area
citizens for their service to the community; the Essex County Bar Asso-
ciation has conferred the award since 1957; and
WHEREAS, The Essex County Bar Association will proudly honor the
Anthony P. Reale, Theodore Reale, and Peter Reale Families of Ticondero-
ga at its 2009 Law Day Dinner, to be held at The Burgoyne Grill at The
Best Western Ticonderoga on Friday, May 1, 2009; and
WHEREAS, The Reale Family has resided in Ticonderoga for more than 100
years; Anthony Reale, Sr. was a road builder greatly admired by licensed
engineers for his ability to establish the critical measurements of
width, height, and grade by sight; his sons, Anthony P. Reale and Theo-
dore Reale, as engineers, continued in their father's footsteps in the
construction business of A.P. Reale & Sons and Reale Construction, and
Anthony's sons, Peter, John and Jamie are, in turn, continuing the fami-
ly legacy of both business and community service; and
WHEREAS, Wherever one looks, the service and generosity of the Reale
Family, from the construction of Little League baseball fields to the
design and construction of nature trails and parks, over the years is
evident throughout Ticonderoga and surrounding areas; and
WHEREAS, In addition to performing work-related community service,
each member of the Reale Family has individually contributed to the
Ticonderoga community by serving on numerous committees, school boards
and planning boards; and
WHEREAS, Whenever a need arises in the Ticonderoga community, Reale
Family members are quick to volunteer their time and services, often
making needed equipment available as well; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such extraordinary community service and professional and
personal accomplishment are brought to our attention, they should be
recognized and celebrated by all the citizens of the great State of New
York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Reale Family of Ticonderoga upon the occasion of its desig-
nation by the Essex County Bar Association as the recipient of its 2009
Liberty Bell Award on May 1, 2009; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Anthony P. Reale, Theodore Reale, and Peter Reale Fami-
lies.
