LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Michael C. Patrizio upon the occasion of
his retirement after many years of distinguished service as a teacher
with the North Colonie Central School District

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this great
State; and
WHEREAS, The result of many individual efforts, the excellence and the
success of the North Colonie Central School District is due in large
part to the efforts of its retiring teacher, Michael C. Patrizio; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Michael C. Patrizio upon the occasion of his retirement after many years
of distinguished service as a teacher with the North Colonie Central
School District; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated at a recep-
tion to be held in his honor on Friday, May 29, 2009, at the Century
House in Latham, New York; and
WHEREAS, Michael C. Patrizio began his teaching career with the North
Colonie Central School District in September 1973 at Shaker High School;
and
WHEREAS, From September 1974 to June 1993, Michael C. Patrizio taught
music at the Blue Creek, Goodrich, Latham Ridge, Boght Hills, Southgate
and Loudonville elementary schools; from 1993 to the present his teach-
ing assignment has once again been at Shaker High School; and
WHEREAS, During his distinguished career as an educator with the North
Colonie Central School District, Michael C. Patrizio directed the Jazz
Band, was instrumental in creating and directing the Shaker High School
Marching Band, and assisted with the pit orchestra for school musicals;
and
WHEREAS, In addition, Michael C. Patrizio directed the Siena Pep Band,
and was the owner and operator of the "First Note Music" store; and
WHEREAS, Michael C. Patrizio was married to the late Kathie Kirk
Patrizio; together they were the proud parents of two daughters, Melissa
and Katie; now remarried to Alana Patrizio, Michael is the loving grand-
father of Thomas Jr., Kate, and Olivia; and
WHEREAS, Michael C. Patrizio has continually demonstrated an impres-
sive dedication, an unparalleled devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm
for the quality of the educational programs and opportunities offered in
the North Colonie Central School District for the benefit of its
students, as well as for the entire community; and
WHEREAS, In completing many years of service as an educator, Michael
C. Patrizio leaves behind more than mere bricks and mortar; he leaves
behind a legacy to the North Colonie Central School District and to the
residents of the North Colonie community and to future generations of
its students; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend and honor Michael C. Patrizio upon the occasion of his retire-
ment after many years of distinguished service as a teacher with the
North Colonie Central School District; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michael C. Patrizio.
