LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Webster Schroeder High School Cheer-
leading Team upon the occasion of being named Overall Grand Champions of
the American Cheer Competition in Orlando, Florida

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved
only through strenuous practice and team spirit, nurtured by dedicated
coaching; and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical develop-
ment of the young people of this State, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, imparting a desire for success and developing a sense of
fair play and competition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor
the Webster Schroeder High School Cheerleading Team upon the occasion of
being named Overall Grand Champions of the American Cheer Competition in
Orlando, Florida; and
WHEREAS, After months of hard work and determination, the Webster
Schroeder High School Cheerleading Team concluded their season, which
began last August, by defeating 13 other teams from around the country
at the American Cheer Competition; and
WHEREAS, The Webster Schroeder High School Cheerleading Team scored a
total of 259 out of a possible 300 points during the three-day event to
claim the school's second national title; and
WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by this team is due in great
part to the efforts of Coaches Donna Bour and Joy Scheible, who have
done a superb job in guiding, molding and inspiring the team members
toward their goals; and
WHEREAS, Loyally and enthusiastically supported by family, fans,
friends and the community at large, the members of the Webster Schroeder
High School Cheerleading Team have proven themselves to be an unbeatable
combination of talents, reflecting favorably on their school; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that young people
who represent their community with pride and determination while partic-
ipating in competitive sports should be celebrated and recognized by all
the citizens of the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to honor the Webster Schroeder
High School Cheerleading Team, young women of singular distinction and
superlative ability, and recognize the value of their labors; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Webster Schroeder High School Cheerleading Team: its members:
Cassie Abraham, Alissa Arena, Alexis Arnold, Chelsey Bauer, Melissa
Bour, Shaina Callarama, Nicole Capadano, Nicolette Christopher, Jen
Costanza, Allison Dimino, Alyssa Dunham, Alyssa Falvo, Sarah Farciglia,
Melissa Forward, Heather Hoderlein, Arielle Julian, Jayna Jurgensen,
Stacy Kosel, Alexis Lodico, Courtney Lubin, Lauren Luft, Katie Madlen,
Nicole Madlen, Alex Martucci, Katie Papas, Alissa Piccarreto, Brittany
Salvato, Sarabeth Spitali, Nicole Stirpe, Olivia Valenti, Nicole Whit-
tum, Kaleigh Witzel and Lauren Young; and Coaches Donna Bour and Joy
Scheible, upon the occasion of being named Overall Grand Champions of
the American Cheer Competition in Orlando, Florida; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Webster Schroeder High School Cheerleading Team and
Coaches Donna Bour and Joy Scheible.
