LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Alicia M. Crowe, Esq. upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity,
Inc.

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Alicia M. Crowe, Esq. upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, This special event was held at the Fraternity's annual Carter
G. Woodson Memorial Awards celebration on February 25, 2011, at the
First AME Zion Church in Brooklyn, New York; the ceremonial theme was: A
Celebration of Excellence: Recognizing the Accomplishments of Outstand-
ing African Americans; and
WHEREAS, Alicia Crowe is a rising voice and face for responsible
fatherhood in America; as an experienced trial attorney, author, and
speaker, she holds a powerful insider understanding of our legal system
and how it affects fathers; and
WHEREAS, Author of the book, REAL DADS STAND UP! WHAT EVERY SINGLE
FATHER SHOULD KNOW ABOUT CHILD SUPPORT RIGHTS AND CUSTODY, Alicia Crowe
is changing the lives of fathers and their children; this book offers
insight and solutions to help single fathers and gain a greater under-
standing of their rights under the legal system; and
WHEREAS, Alicia Crowe is also a contributing author to the best seller
I GOT YOUR BACK: A FATHER AND SON KEEP IT REAL ABOUT, LOVE, FATHERHOOD,
FAMILY AND RELATIONSHIP by Eddie Levert, Sr. and his late son, Gerald
Levert, along with Lyah Beth LeFlore; this particular book shares a
message of reconciliation for broken families and powerful insights for
fatherhood, male bonding and male/female relationships; and
WHEREAS, Alicia Crowe is a popular media guest whose expertise has
been featured in national media programs around the country; a sample of
these shows include television appearances on BETJ's "My Two Cents", FOX
"Good Day Atlanta," and on radio shows including, "The Wendy Williams
Experience", and the "Russ Parr Morning Show"; additionally, her advice
for responsible fatherhood has appeared in national magazines, including
EBONY, BLACK MEN MAGAZINE, SISTER TO SISTER, MODERN BRIDE, and ELLE
MAGAZINE, to name a few; and
WHEREAS, A partner in the law firm Crowe & Crowe, Alicia Crowe is an
Adelphi University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political
science and a J.D. degree from Howard University School of Law; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Alicia M. Crowe, Esq. upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Alicia M. Crowe, Esq.
