LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Frank V. Carone upon the occasion of his
designation by the Kidney & Urology Foundation of America as its Man of
the Year on April 13, 2011

WHEREAS, Individuals who distinguish themselves in their profession and
in service to others merit the highest commendation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Frank V. Carone upon the occasion of his designation by the Kidney &
Urology Foundation of America as its Man of the Year on April 13, 2011;
and
WHEREAS, Since its early beginnings the Kidney & Urology Foundation of
America (KUFA) has been at the forefront in the fight against kidney,
urologic and hypertensive diseases; the lives of all of us have been
touched in one way or another by the Foundation, whose efforts in
research and medical therapy have helped to change sickness and death to
life and prolonged health; and
WHEREAS, The Kidney & Urology Foundation of America is dedicated to
helping people avoid the debilitating effects of kidney and urologic
diseases, disorders affecting as many as 70 million Americans today, and
is committed to making research and resources available to patients and
their families, as well as to caregivers; and
WHEREAS, Frank V. Carone will be honored with KUFA's Man of the Year
Award in recognition of his outstanding efforts on behalf of those
suffering with kidney and urologic problems at the Kidney & Urology
Foundation of America's 2011 Annual Awards Banquet, to be held on April
13, 2011 at The St. Regis; and
WHEREAS, Frank V. Carone was born, raised and continues to reside in
Brooklyn where he attended and graduated cum laude from St. John's
University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance; he
earned his Juris Doctor degree at Brooklyn Law School, where he gradu-
ated in the top of his class in 1994 and received the award for American
Jurisprudence in Legal Ethics; and
WHEREAS, He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1993 to
1995, where upon completion of Officers Candidate School, he was commis-
sioned as a 2nd Lieutenant; he also graduated from the School of Mort-
gage Banking in 1999, and is currently active in Campus MBA, both of
which are programs of the Mortgage Banking Association of America; and
WHEREAS, Frank V. Carone, a founding partner in the Law Office of
Seddio & Carone, PLLC, has extensive experience in many complex areas of
the law including criminal defense, regulatory compliance, banking,
health care and corporate governance; and
WHEREAS, Well-known and highly regarded in his profession, Frank V.
Carone is an active participant in bar association conferences and in
seminars offered by several trade associations; he has, in addition,
served as a guest lecturer at the Brooklyn Bar Association and the
Columbian Lawyers Association of Brooklyn; and
WHEREAS, He is consulted regularly by attorneys and members of the
profession on mortgage compliance; he is a member of the Regulatory
Compliance Committee of the Mortgage Banking Association of America and
was asked to serve as legal counsel for the Bay Ridge/Bensonhurst Multi-
ple Listing Service; and
WHEREAS, Frank V. Carone is a member of the New York State Bar Associ-
ation; Association of Trial Lawyers of America; Brooklyn Bar Associ-
ation, where he is Chair of the House Committee and a member of its
Professional Ethics and Unlawful Practice of Law Committees; American
Association of Bank Directors; National Association of Criminal Defense

Lawyers; Kings County Criminal Bar Association and the Columbian Lawyers
Association; and
WHEREAS, Active in numerous community, church and political organiza-
tions as well as in his profession, he is the recipient of a Kieser
Award and has been honored by the Federation of Italian American Associ-
ations where he is currently working with the Board on the Building
Planning Committee to complete the construction of the largest Italian
American Cultural Center in the United States; and
WHEREAS, Frank V. Carone's other civic and philanthropic endeavors
include the Columbus Citizens Foundation's Adopt-a-Scholar Program;
service as the Chairman of the Staten Island "Great Strides" walk to
cure Cystic Fibrosis; active membership and member of the board of the
Bay Ridge-Bensonhurst Kiwanis Club; member of the Board of Directors of
Bishop Kearney High School and the Brooklyn Board of Realtors, where he
chaired the Public Relations Committee and was Vice Chair of the
Legislative/RPAC Committee; and
WHEREAS, He is also the Vice President of the McKenna-Glover Founda-
tion for Fallen Marines; member of the St. Bernard Church Finance
Committee; founding member and Grand Knight of the St. Bernard Knights
of Columbus Council which, under his leadership, was the first council
in Kings County to receive the prestigious Circle of Honor and Double
Star Awards in many years; a founding Pastoral Council member; school
board member; member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of
Jerusalem; Chair of the Lay Advisory Committee for the Diocese of Brook-
lyn-Queens; and a Member of the Board of Hanover Community Bank and its
ALCO and Audit Committees; and
WHEREAS, With Frank V. Carone throughout have been his wife, Diana,
and their two children, all of whom are proud to be part of his life and
rejoice in his many accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, it is appropriate to proclaim and commend them for the edification
and emulation of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Frank V. Carone upon the occasion of his designation by the Kidney
& Urology Foundation of America as its Man of the Year on April 13,
2011; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Frank V. Carone.
