LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Rita McPeck upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Linda Saland Community Leadership Award
by the Alzheimer's Association on April 9, 2011

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its
citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Rita
McPeck upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Linda
Saland Community Leadership Award by the Hudson Valley, Rockland, West-
chester, New York Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association to be cele-
brated at its 14th Annual A Night of Wine & Roses Gala on Saturday,
April 9, 2011, at The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, Poughkeepsie, New York;
and
WHEREAS, An exemplary leader and Alzheimer's champion, Rita McPeck has
continually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence
and diligent leadership in her unwavering service to her community; and
WHEREAS, Rita McPeck began her career at KeyBank in November of 1987
and currently holds the position of Senior Business Service Officer in
their Business Banking Team; in addition, for three years she simultane-
ously held the position of Community Relations Manager reporting direct-
ly to the District President; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure at KeyBank Rita McPeck has been recognized
with the esteemed Signature Circle Award in 2002, 2006, 2009, and again
in 2010; she has served on the Diversity Council since its inception in
1994, and was instrumental in helping KeyBank achieve the POUGHKEEPSIE
JOURNAL's 2005 Diversity in the Workplace Award; and
WHEREAS, Rita McPeck has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Extremely active in the Dutchess County community, Rita
McPeck has served on the Boards of such prestigious organizations as the
YWCA of Dutchess County, American Cancer Society of Dutchess County,
Abilities First and the Alzheimer's Association; and
WHEREAS, Currently Rita McPeck serves as a Board Member for the Dutch-
ess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, Dutchess County Regional Cham-
ber of Commerce Foundation, New Horizon Resources Inc. and the New Hori-
zon Foundation; furthermore, she has been an employee campaign volunteer
for the United Way for the past nine years as well as a 2002 Loan Execu-
tive; and
WHEREAS, A proud recipient of the Community Spirit Award from the
Poughkeepsie Chamber of Commerce in 2004, and the Volunteer of the Year
from the Alzheimer's Association in 2002, Rita McPeck was recognized in
2007 as an Athena Award Honoree through the Dutchess County Regional
Chamber of Commerce Foundation; most recently, she received New Horizon
Foundation's Leadership 2010 Award; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Rita McPeck has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Rita McPeck upon the occasion of receiving the Linda Saland Commu-
nity Leadership Award from the Alzheimer's Association on April 9, 2011;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Rita McPeck.
