LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Margaret McCann upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition after 50 years of distinguished
service to Albany Medical Center

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals and organizations which have shown a long-
standing commitment to improving the quality of life in their communi-
ties; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed resi-
dents of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Margaret
McCann upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
after 50 years of distinguished service to Albany Medical Center, to be
celebrated on Wednesday, April 20, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Saturday, April 16, 2011, marks the date of the 50th anniver-
sary of Margaret McCann's employment with Albany Medical Center; she is
one of eight employees who has reached their 50th anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Margaret McCann's date of hire was on April 16, 1961; she
served in the nursing units until 1965, and then worked in the Post
Anesthesia Care Unit (Recovery Room) until March of 2009; and
WHEREAS, Since March of 2009, Margaret McCann has served as an Admin-
istrative Support Associate in the Ambulatory Surgery Department; she
has been a true asset to Albany Medical Center; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate blend-
ing of strength, intellect, and commitment as that demonstrated by
Margaret McCann over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication to others;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Margaret McCann upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition after 50 years of distinguished service to Albany Medical
Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Margaret McCann.
