LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Ulster Savings Bank upon the occasion
of its designation for special recognition by the Kingston Hospital
Foundation as the recipient of its Community Outreach Award at its 22nd
Annual Tulip Ball on April 30, 2011

WHEREAS, Organizations and institutions which distinguish themselves in
service to their community merit the highest commendation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to recognize
and commend Ulster Savings Bank upon the occasion of its designation for
special recognition by the Kingston Hospital Foundation as the recipient
of its Community Outreach Award at its 22nd Annual Tulip Ball, to be
held at the Wiltwyck Golf Club on Saturday, April 30, 2011; and
WHEREAS, It was in the spring of 1851 that Ulster Savings Bank first
opened its doors as a community bank, making it one of the oldest oper-
ating financial institutions in the country; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Ulster Savings Bank has adapted its
products and services to meet the needs of a growing and changing commu-
nity; as a result, this year, Ulster Savings Bank proudly celebrates 160
years of continued strength, stability and service to the Hudson Valley
community; such longevity and success comes from doing the right thing,
time and time again; and
WHEREAS, Ulster Savings Bank has always respected its traditional
community banking values and supported the work local neighbors, small
businesses and organizations do to help the communities it serves grow
and prosper; and
WHEREAS, Whether it's helping families finance their homes or helping
owners grow their businesses, it is all about trust; the local values
that Ulster Savings Bank is known for contribute to both its long term
success and to the growth and prosperity of the communities of the area;
and
WHEREAS, Ulster Savings Bank shares with its customers the convenience
of the latest online banking and financial planning tools as well as the
simplicity and value of a free checking account and also offers the
diversity of insurance, tax planning, and payroll services to small
businesses throughout the Mid Hudson Valley; and
WHEREAS, Ulster Savings Bank employees are well-known for volunteering
their time to innumerable non-profit organizations; and
WHEREAS, The bank's charitable foundation, the Ulster Savings Charita-
ble Foundation, has, in addition, donated millions of dollars for the
advancement of health, education and housing and each year, it sponsors
numerous events and hosts an annual breakfast to recognize and thank
area non-profit agencies for making the Hudson Valley a better place to
live; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when insti-
tutions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, it is appropriate to proclaim and commend them for the edification
and emulation of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
recognize and commend Ulster Savings Bank upon the occasion of its
designation for special recognition by the Kingston Hospital Foundation
as the recipient of its Community Outreach Award at its 22nd Annual
Tulip Ball on April 30, 2011; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Ulster Savings Bank.
