LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Brendan McCann and Daniel Casey upon the
occasion of their designation as Business Persons of the Year by the
Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly recognize those small businesses within the State of New York
which have positively impacted their communities; and
WHEREAS, As small business owners, Brendan McCann and Daniel Casey
have exerted a strong, positive influence on their community, and have
given not only of their time and energies but also of their competence,
intelligence and leadership and consequently have been designated for
special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Brendan McCann
and Daniel Casey upon the occasion of their designation as Business
Persons of the Year by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce; this auspi-
cious event will be celebrated at the 26th Annual Bethlehem Chamber of
Commerce Dinner on Friday, April 29, 2011, at the Cyprus Shrine in Glen-
mont, New York; and
WHEREAS, Co-owners of Perfect Blend Cafe in Delmar, New York, Brendan
McCann and Daniel Casey recently expanded their business, opening a
specialty dessert shop named Make Me a Cake Next Door, also located in
Delmar; and
WHEREAS, Brendan McCann and Daniel Casey have been called upon to
contribute their time and talents to countless civic and charitable
endeavors and have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Eager to give back to the community they serve, Brendan
McCann and Daniel Casey are both vendors and contributors to the Inter-
faith Partnership for the Homeless; they also sponsor their neighborhood
Little League and frequently donate to local causes and charities; and
WHEREAS, In addition, these outstanding businessmen are actively
involved in the Farmers Market, contributing to the efforts of buying
local and supporting their local economy; and
WHEREAS, Throughout their entire period of community service, a period
of constructive involvement, Brendan McCann and Daniel Casey have stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Brendan McCann and Daniel Casey have
displayed throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, With their proven business leadership abilities and their
evident dedication to their community, Brendan McCann and Daniel Casey
are the quintessential selection for the prestigious Business Persons of
the Year Award; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Brendan McCann and Daniel Casey upon the occasion of their desig-
nation as Business Persons of the Year by the Bethlehem Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Brendan McCann and Daniel Casey.
