LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Drue C. Lynch, distin-
guished citizen and devoted member of his community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Drue C. Lynch of Wallkill, New York, died on Sunday, April 3,
2011, at the age of 47; and
WHEREAS, A 1982 graduate of John A. Coleman Catholic High School, Drue
C. Lynch attended St. Bonaventure University and received a Bachelor of
Arts in Business; and
WHEREAS, In 1986, Drue C. Lynch began his career at the Ulster County
Sheriff's Office, Corrections Division; he later moved to the Criminal
Division and was promoted to Detective Sergeant in 2007; and
WHEREAS, Regarded by his colleagues as a thorough, hard-working man
and skilled investigator, Drue C. Lynch distinguished himself in his
profession and by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to
the welfare of his community; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career, Drue C. Lynch supervised
the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, served as President of the
Police Benevolent Association, and worked on the Navigation Unit as well
as the Mid-Hudson Regional Drug Task Force; and
WHEREAS, Drue C. Lynch's commitment to excellence, and his spirit of
humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including charita-
ble and civic endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Predeceased by his father, John J. Lynch, Drue C. Lynch is
survived by his loving wife, Jeanmarie Lynch; his son, Dylan Lynch;
step-children, Jake and Raya Sweed; his mother, Anne Mulligan; stepfa-
ther, Robert Mulligan; step-mother, Kathryn Lynch; a brother, Sean
(Wendy) Lynch; and his uncle, Edmund Lynch; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit, imbued with a sense of
compassion, and comforted by a loving family, Drue C. Lynch leaves
behind a legacy which will long endure the passage of time and will
remain as a comforting memory to all he served and befriended; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Drue C. Lynch, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Drue C. Lynch.
