LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Paul Kudowitz posthumously upon the
occasion of his designation for special recognition by the Aleh Founda-
tion on June 1, 2011

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who distinguished themselves through
their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives of
service to their community and their profession; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dr. Paul
Kudowitz posthumously upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Aleh Foundation, to be celebrated at its Annual
Dinner on Wednesday, June 1, 2011; and
WHEREAS, The Aleh Foundation is dedicating the 2011 Cocktail Reception
in loving memory of Dr. Paul Kudowitz, who is widely admired for his
commitment to charitable Jewish organizations; and
WHEREAS, Born to a Brooklyn family on April 8, 1953, Dr. Paul Kudowitz
worked his way up to a comfortable life in the suburbs; he held success-
ful pain management and anesthesiology practices in both New Jersey and
Astoria, New York; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Paul Kudowitz became a respected member of his community
and commissioned the writing of a sefer Torah which he dedicated to
Ahavath Torah, the synagogue where he was a longtime member; Dr. Kudow-
itz was dedicated to his family, especially his four grandchildren, and
his community; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Paul Kudowitz was called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless endeavors and always gave of himself unstintingly;
and
WHEREAS, A longtime member of the board of directors of the Aleh Foun-
dation, Dr. Paul Kudowitz personally sponsored a beautiful state-of-the-
art music therapy room in Aleh's Jerusalem Center, which has helped and
entertained hundreds of severely developmentally disabled children; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Dr. Paul Kudowitz stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Today, his loving wife, Ricki Kudowitz, remains devoted to
all his causes; his children, Robyn (Jonathan) Katz, Brian (Laura)
Kudowitz, Ariele (Tzvi) Lazar, Cara Kudowitz and Sabrina Kudowitz follow
in his noble ways and are involved in supporting The Aleh Foundation's
work, passing the torch of compassion and generosity on to his four
beloved grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Dr. Paul Kudowitz displayed through-
out his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who have
enhanced the quality of life in their community and displayed a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned recognition and applause; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Paul Kudowitz posthumously upon the occasion of his desig-
nation for special recognition by the Aleh Foundation on June 1, 2011;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Dr. Paul Kudowitz.
