LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Community Board 17 upon the occasion
of hosting its 25th Annual Youth Happen'n Day event

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time, this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary organizations it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Community
Board 17 upon the occasion of hosting its 25th Annual Youth Happen'n Day
event on Thursday, August 4, 2011, in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, This special gathering is anticipating numerous children,
where food, activities and entertainment are provided for them to make
it a fun-filled day; and
WHEREAS, A not-for-profit organization and a true asset to society,
Community Board 17 is dedicated to improving the lives of Brooklyn's
residents; its long history of charity is a testament to the moral
responsibility of supporting and providing for those less fortunate; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned our
recognition and applause; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Community Board 17 upon the occasion of hosting its 25th Annual
Youth Happen'n Day event; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Community Board 17.
