LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Park-
Meigs Neighborhood Association to be celebrated on December 4, 2011

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 50th Anniversary of the Park-Meigs Neighborhood Association to
be celebrated with a Brunch on Sunday, December 4, 2011, at the Eisen-
hart Auditorium, located in the Rochester Museum and Science Center; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1961, the Park-Meigs Neighborhood Association
mission is to enhance the quality of life for the residents within its
community; and
WHEREAS, The Park-Meigs Neighborhood Association disseminates informa-
tion, provides a forum for concerns, encourages property maintenance and
preservation, promotes safety, and offers opportunities for neighbors to
meet and socialize; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an organ-
ization for the benefit of others which the Park-Meigs Neighborhood
Association has displayed for five decades; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
organizations, such as the Park-Meigs Neighborhood Association, which
serve to bring people together for the united purpose of actively pursu-
ing improvements within their communities; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Park-Meigs Neighborhood Associ-
ation; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Park-Meigs Neighborhood Association, 200 Park Avenue, Roches-
ter, New York 14607.
