LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Norbert Sherbunt upon his induction into
the Amsterdam Mohawks Hall of Fame

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their community;
and
WHEREAS, Norbert Sherbunt will be inducted into the Amsterdam Mohawks
Hall of Fame during a dinner to be held at St. Mary's Institute on
February 4, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Norb is President of the Wasserman Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Under his expert leadership, the Wasserman Foundation has
contributed immensely to updates at historic Shuttleworth Park, includ-
ing the field, lighting, irrigation systems, batting cages, storage
sheds, infield and outfield refurbishing, field tarps, fencing, Mohawks
uniforms, and equipment; and
WHEREAS, Norb was also instrumental in upgrades, including lighting,
at Lynch Stadium; and
WHEREAS, He has been a successful practicing attorney in Amsterdam for
over 40 years; and
WHEREAS, Norb has contributed his time to the boards of many local
non-profit organizations, and has served as President of the SPCA board
for many years; and
WHEREAS, He and his loving wife, Judith, are the proud parents of
Heather, Holly, Hillary, and NJ Sherbunt; and
WHEREAS, Norb's tireless dedication and valuable contributions have
been instrumental to the success of the Amsterdam Mohawks; and
WHEREAS, His induction into the Amsterdam Mohawks Hall of Fame is a
fitting and lasting tribute to his extraordinary legacy; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Norb Sherbunt upon his well-deserved induction into the Amsterdam
Mohawks Hall of Fame; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Norbert Sherbunt.
