LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Barbara Vink upon the occasion of her
retirement from the Voorheesville Public Library

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Barbara Vink upon the occasion of her retirement from the Voorheesville
Public Library; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Vink, longtime director's assistant and editor of the
library newsletter, THE BOOKWORM, has retired; her love of the library
and the Voorheesville community inspired her to create the local poetry
group, "The Every Other Thursday Night Poets"; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Vink coordinated the Small Town Friends Festival, and
produced the Summer Together at Twilight concerts; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Barbara Vink rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Voorheesville Public Library;
she served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Barbara Vink was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with the Voorheesville Public Library,
Barbara Vink earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her
colleagues; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Barbara Vink upon the occasion of her retirement from the
Voorheesville Public Library; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Barbara Vink.
