LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Emmett Anderson upon the occasion
of his designation for special honor by the Cornell University Cooper-
ative Extension 4-H Program on March 6, 2012

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the youth of
today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Emmett Anderson upon the occasion of his designation for special
honor by the Cornell University Cooperative Extension 4-H Program on
March 6, 2012; and
WHEREAS, 16-year-old Emmett Anderson is a junior at Valley Central
High School; one of his greatest delights is that he is involved with
providing help at the Autism Move-a-thon through his 4-H Club; and
WHEREAS, This exceptional young man is also an active member of the
Orange County Hare Raisers, an animal science club where members learn
about care of rabbits; the members of the Hare Raisers also focus on
community service, leadership development, educating the public, social
events and fundraising in support of their efforts; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Emmett Anderson serves as Vice President of his
club, and is coordinating a community dinner at a local church in Gosh-
en, New York, to be held later in the year; and
WHEREAS, A young man of singular distinction and superlative ability,
Emmett Anderson has established a purposefulness of life rarely achieved
in youthful years; he represents the best development of the potential
which is inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, Emmett
Anderson now stands honorably, with just pride in his accomplishments
and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appre-
ciating the caring counsel and support provided by his teachers, family
and friends; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when young
people of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Emmett Anderson upon the occasion of his designation for
special honor by the Cornell University Cooperative Extension 4-H
Program on March 6, 2012, and to extend to him its best wishes for a
future of purposeful success and well-being, fully confident of his
response to a promising future and appreciative of the model he repres-
ents for all aspiring young people of the Empire State; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Emmett Anderson.
