LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Donna M. Boyle upon the occasion of
her designation as Temple Beth El of Patchogue's Honoree of the Year

WHEREAS, Individuals who distinguish themselves in their profession and
in service to their community merit the recognition and appreciation of
their community and of this Legislative Body; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals of such magnanimous conduct and bearing who demon-
strate a deep and continuing concern for others, and in so doing,
inspire others to do the same; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to applaud
Donna M. Boyle upon the occasion of her designation as Temple Beth El of
Patchogue's Honoree of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Temple Beth El of Patchogue will honor Donna M. Boyle at a
Testimonial Brunch at the Temple on Sunday, April 1, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Established more than 100 years ago, Temple Beth El of Patc-
hogue is an egalitarian conservative congregation which each year proud-
ly recognizes a member of the community as its Honoree of the Year in
appreciation of their enduring and outstanding service to the community;
Donna M. Boyle of the Patchogue Family YMCA/Brookhaven Roe YMCA truly
merits that high honor; and
WHEREAS, Donna Boyle has been the Executive Director of Brookhaven Roe
YMCA since October 2000; she helped spearhead a plan to build a full
facility YMCA in Patchogue Village and, with an extremely generous kick-
off donation, the new building opened its doors in September 2010; and
WHEREAS, Donna Boyle's career began at the Huntington YMCA as a swim
instructor and lifeguard in 1990; she went on to work at the Great South
Bay YMCA as lead instructor and head lifeguard in 1991 and, by 1996 she
had become its Membership Director and then Director of Operations; and
WHEREAS, Donna Boyle served as Association of YMCA Professionals (AYP)
Chapter 1 Vice President from 1997 to 2003 and as the Chapter 1 Presi-
dent from 2003 to 2006 and, she has served as a Greater Patchogue Cham-
ber of Commerce Board Member since 2001; and
WHEREAS, Donna Boyle has fittingly been honored many times; in 2007,
she was honored by the Town of Brookhaven Office of Women's Services; in
2008, she received a New York State Senate Women of Distinction Award;
the Patchogue Youth and Community Services organization recognized her
as its 2009 Woman of the Year; in April 2011, she received the Polaris
Award for Excellence from the Long Island Maritime Museum; and in May
2011, she was named one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business
by the LONG ISLAND BUSINESS NEWS; and
WHEREAS, An active participant in community affairs and organizations,
Donna Boyle is a member of the New York State Unity Coalition and the
Alliance of New York State YMCAs, and she additionally serves as a
member of both the Holtsville/Farmingville and Bellport Chambers of
Commerce; and
WHEREAS, With Donna Boyle throughout have been her husband, Dennis,
and their three grown sons, Timothy, Daniel and Kevin, all of whom are
proud to be part of her life and rejoice in her many accomplishments;
and
WHEREAS, Residents of North Babylon, New York, Donna and Dennis enjoy
boating and relaxing on the Great South Bay; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to extend its highest commen-
dation to Donna M. Boyle for her dedication and commitment to her commu-
nity; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Donna M. Boyle upon the occasion of her designation as Temple
Beth El of Patchogue's Honoree of the Year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Donna M. Boyle.
