LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Chief Frank Pane upon the occasion of
his retirement from Geneva Police Department

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and honor
those distinguished officers and citizens who would devote themselves to
public service, demonstrating great courage and diligence in providing
for the care and welfare of the citizens of their communities and this
great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their exem-
plary contributions and service on behalf of others; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Chief Frank
Pane upon the occasion of his retirement from Geneva Police Department;
and
WHEREAS, Chief Frank Pane was born on October 7, 1942, in Geneva, New
York, and is the proud son of Francis T. Pane and the late Mary Helen
Pane; and
WHEREAS, A proud member of the United States Army from 1961 until
1964, Chief Frank Pane was assigned to a security unit in Korea which
was responsible for admission to a maximum security area; he was also
stationed in Washington D.C., where he was posted to the Presidential
Honor Guard in charge of Army Cordons; upon completion of his service,
Chief Frank Pane received an Honorable Discharge as Private First Class;
and
WHEREAS, Chief Frank Pane began his esteemed career with the City of
Geneva on July 15, 1966, as a Patrolman with the Geneva Police Depart-
ment; an extremely hard worker and an exemplary leader, he was promoted
to Chief on November 4, 1988, the position from which he is retiring;
and
WHEREAS, Chief Frank Pane earned his Bachelor of Science degree in
Criminal Justice from RIT in 1976; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his professional responsibilities, Chief Frank
Pane has been called upon to contribute his time and talents to count-
less civic and charitable endeavors and has always given of himself
unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Chief Frank Pane is a member of the American Legion and the
Nester Hose Company of the Geneva Fire Department; he was the Coach for
Varsity Baseball at DeSales High School, where he also served as Assist-
ant Coach for Girls Basketball; additionally, he serves as a member of
the Board of Directors for the Salvation Army; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Mary Ann, and their
children, Frank Jr., Mike and Julie, as well as their grandchildren,
Matthew and Mara, and their step-grandchildren, Anthony and Roseann, all
of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his
achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those dedicated
public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the preservation
of order and the protection of others are worthy and due full praise for
their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Chief Frank Pane upon the occasion of his retirement from Geneva
Police Department; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Chief Frank Pane.
