LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Al's Seafood Restaurant of Phoenicia,
New York, for its many years of extraordinary service and vitality in
the community

WHEREAS, Organizations which serve the economic well-being and interests
of the people of this great Empire State merit the commendation of this
Legislative Body; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize illus-
trious culinary establishments which have positively impacted and
substantially contributed to the vitality of their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Al's
Seafood Restaurant of Phoenicia, New York, for its many years of
extraordinary service and vitality in the community; and
WHEREAS, Open continuously since 1940, Al's Seafood Restaurant of
Phoenicia, New York, is closing its doors on March 19, 2012, upon the
retirement of Paul Pettinato, its long time proprietor, and son of the
restaurant's original owner; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1940 by the late Al Pettinato, Al's Seafood
Restaurant of Phoenicia, New York, was a legendary local eatery; its
original location was on Route 28 across from Ernst Drive; it relocated
to its present location in 1946; and
WHEREAS, Since 1940, Al's Seafood Restaurant of Phoenicia, New York
has stood as a beloved establishment which has provided a friendly, open
environment for patrons to collectively gather and share their thoughts,
ideas and life experiences; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Al's Seafood
Restaurant of Phoenicia, New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when business
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Al's Seafood Restaurant of Phoenicia, New York, for its many years
of extraordinary service and vitality in the community; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Paul Pettinato.
