LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Herman "Herm" Herbert upon the occa-
sion of being honored by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT in its 2012 Men at
Work edition

WHEREAS, Individuals who distinguish themselves in their profession and
in service to their community merit the recognition and appreciation of
this Legislative Body and the people of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Herman "Herm" Herbert, Owner and Operator of the Herbert Dairy in Calli-
coon, New York, upon the occasion of his designation for special recog-
nition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT in its 2012 Men at Work edition
congratulating the men for making Sullivan and Wayne Counties a better
place to live; and
WHEREAS, Herm Herbert graduated from Jeffersonville-Youngsville High
School, which he attended after moving to Jeffersonville when he was in
the ninth grade; he previously attended Delaware Valley Central School
in Callicoon; and
WHEREAS, Fifty-six year old Herm Herbert leases 295 acres at the
former Ray and Charlotte Kautz Farm, where he owns and operates the
Herbert Dairy and milks 60 head of cattle with an additional 100 dry
cows; and
WHEREAS, He has run the farm since November 1955 and, for 27 years
prior to that he worked with Willie Hughson and previously served the
Jeffersonville community as a firefighter; and
WHEREAS, Herm Herbert is justly proud of his 14-year-old son Herman
who lives in Albany; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have demonstrated a
long and sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in
their profession truly merit the recognition and appreciation of this
Legislative Body and the people of the State of New York; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Herman "Herm" Herbert upon the occasion of being honored by the
SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT in its 2012 Men at Work edition; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Herm Herbert.
