LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Rachel Bogin-Costa upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition at the 26th Annual Ralph J.
Sansone Foundation Scholarship Dinner

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Rachel Bogin-Costa upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition at the 26th Annual Ralph J. Sansone Foundation Scholarship
Dinner; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 15,
2012, at Sirico's, 8015 13th Avenue, Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Rachel Bogin-Costa is Creative Director at an event marketing
agency in New York City; and
WHEREAS, Dedicating herself to volunteering in New York City with New
York Cares, in 2007 Rachel Bogin-Costa established an online resource,
"Give & Get NYC," for people wishing to volunteer; its website has been
featured in the HUFFINGTON POST, OFFMETRO and the MANHATTAN USER'S
GUIDE; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Rachel Bogin-Costa has been an active member of
ioby.org, an environmental nonprofit organization that supports the
infrastructure of the environmental grassroots movement in urban
centers; and
WHEREAS, Joining the Ralph J. Sansone Foundation in 2007, Rachel
Bogin-Costa was elected to its Board of Directors in 2011; she has
established an online presence for the Foundation which included the
construction of a new website and a new Facebook page; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Rachel Bogin-Costa has
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the
respect and admiration of her colleagues, family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Rachel Bogin-Costa has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Rachel Bogin-Costa upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition at the 26th Annual Ralph J. Sansone Foundation Scho-
larship Dinner; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Rachel Bogin-Costa.
