LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Sister Dolores F. Crepeau upon the occa-
sion of her induction into the Fontbonne Hall Academy Hall of Fame on
May 2, 2012

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Sister Dolores F. Crepeau has given not only of her time and
energies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Sister Dolores
F. Crepeau upon the occasion of her induction into the Fontbonne Hall
Academy Hall of Fame, to be celebrated at its 75th Anniversary Fleur de
Lys Dinner Dance on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Gargiulo's Restaurant in
Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Sister Dolores F. Crepeau grew up in the Flatbush section of
Brooklyn and attended Holy Cross Elementary School and St. Brendan's
Diocesan High School; and
WHEREAS, One year after graduation from high school, Sister Dolores F.
Crepeau entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph and began her studies at
Saint Joseph's College, where she earned a Bachelors' Degree in Child
Study with dual minors in Sociology and Biology; and
WHEREAS, Sister Dolores F. Crepeau continued her graduate education at
Fordham University, where she obtained multiple degrees in Counseling
and Psychological Services, as well as in Administration and Super-
vision; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Sister Dolores F. Crepeau attended Rutgers
International School of Alcohol Studies, and received credentials in
substance abuse counseling; she is also a certified hypnotherapist; and
WHEREAS, Sister Dolores F. Crepeau has been called upon to contribute
her time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Prior to assuming administrative positions in both elementary
and secondary school, she taught the 4th and 8th grades at St. Francis
Xavier School in Park Slope, New York; and
WHEREAS, As Director of Counseling Services at Our Lady of Perpetual
Help High School and a member of the Holistic Health Department at Bish-
op Kearney High School, Sister Dolores helped numerous students to
understand their gifts and talents and thus reach their full potential;
and
WHEREAS, At St. Thomas Aquinas, Our Lady of Perpetual Help High
School, St. Michael's Academy and Fontbonne Hall Academy Sister Dolores
has used her administrative position and skills to create a learning
environment that recognizes the dignity and potential of her students,
staff and faculty members; and
WHEREAS, In 2005, Fontbonne Hall Academy was blessed to welcome Sister
Dolores as principal; and
WHEREAS, In this role, Sister Dolores F. Crepeau has continued the
long tradition of excellence in women's education that began in 1937;
and
WHEREAS, In recognition of her lifetime body of work as an extraor-
dinary educator, Sister Dolores was conferred the Doctor of Humane
Letters Degree by Saint Francis College in 2010; and
WHEREAS, Residing at St. Francis Xavier Parish since 1973, Sister
Dolores has been involved in a private counseling practice, the Reli-
gious Education Program, the Parish Planning Council and the choir; and

WHEREAS, For almost 40 years, she has cherished watching the unfolding
of spirituality in the souls of the children in the Religious Education
Program at Saint Francis Xavier; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Sister Dolores F. Crepeau has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Sister Dolores F. Crepeau has
displayed throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sister Dolores F. Crepeau upon the occasion of her induction into
the Fontbonne Hall Academy Hall of Fame on May 2, 2012; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sister Dolores F. Crepeau.
