LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme upon the occa-
sion of her designation for special recognition by the Port Washington
Parent Resource Center on May 12, 2012

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme has given not only of her time and
energies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dyan Finguer-
ra-DuCharme upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
by the Port Washington Parent Resource Center, to be celebrated at its
Annual Dinner on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Sans Souci in Sea Cliff,
New York; and
WHEREAS, Port Washington Parent Resource Center and Outreach program
provides scholarships and Kindergarten preparedness classes for low
income children within the community; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Brooklyn Law School, Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme is
counsel at White & Case LLP where she specializes in intellectual prop-
erty counseling and disputes; and
WHEREAS, Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme has been called upon to contribute
her time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme is a former PRC Board member and an
active member of the PRC since she moved to Port Washington in 2002; and
WHEREAS, Most notably, Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme has been an invaluable
contributor to the organization's success by providing pro bono legal
services for the past seven years on a wide range of topics from corpo-
rate governance, to employment, to liability; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Seth, and their
daughters, Katie, Kendra and Chloe, all of whom feel privileged to be a
part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme has
displayed throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the Port Washington Parent Resource Center; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme.
