LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Tyler Cappozzoli of Kellenberg
Memorial High School upon the occasion of his record setting track
achievement

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body takes pleasure in honoring talented high
school athletes who distinguish themselves and their community through
outstanding athletic performance; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
congratulate Tyler Cappozzoli upon the occasion of his record setting
track achievement; and
WHEREAS, Fourteen months following heart surgery in November 2010,
Tyler Cappozzoli of Kellenberg Memorial High School and East Williston,
New York, ran a 1:57 opening leg in a record setting 3,200 meter relay
race during the finals of the New Balance National Championship in the
Armory Track and Field Center in the Bronx, New York; and
WHEREAS, The outstanding performance of Tyler Cappozzoli's Kellenberg
Memorial High School relay team broke a 47-year mark for Long Island
High Schools and the Catholic High School Athletic Association; and
WHEREAS, Tyler Cappozzoli will attend Malloy College in the fall and
contend for a spot on its track team; and
WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved
only through strenuous practice; the dedication of Tyler Cappozzoli is a
year-round, every day commitment; he is highly focused and has developed
a matchless work ethic; and
WHEREAS, The exemplary performances of Tyler Cappozzoli is reflective
of his dedication, determination and personal commitment; his achieve-
ment stands as a hallmark of what is best in the families, schools and
communities across New York State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Tyler Cappozzoli of Kellenberg Memorial High School upon
the occasion of his record setting track achievement and to commend him
for the enduring honor he has brought to his family, school and communi-
ty; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tyler Cappozzoli.
