LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Melany and Odrine Belot of Kellen-
berg Memorial High School upon the occasion of their outstanding
achievements in track and field

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body takes pleasure in honoring talented high
school athletes who distinguish themselves and their community through
outstanding athletic performance; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
congratulate Melany and Odrine Belot of Kellenberg Memorial High School
upon the occasion of their outstanding achievements in track and field;
and
WHEREAS, Melany and Odrine Belot of Elmont, New York, enjoyed an
outstanding winter track and field season at Kellenberg Memorial High
School; and
WHEREAS, Odrine Belot was named the NYSPHSAA Federation champion in
the triple jump, as well as being the Co-Field Most Valuable Player at
the CHSAA Intersectional championships; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Odrine Belot was named as first-team All Long
Island in winter track and field by NEWSDAY; and
WHEREAS, Melany Belot, along with Odrine Belot, Jazmine Belcher and
Jazmine Fray, was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team, which placed
third in the NYSPHSAA Federation championship; and
WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved
only through strenuous practice; the dedication of Melany and Odrine
Belot of Kellenberg Memorial High School is a year-round, every day
commitment; they are highly focused and have developed matchless work
ethics; and
WHEREAS, The exemplary performances of Melany and Odrine Belot of
Kellenberg Memorial High School are reflective of their dedication,
determination and personal commitment; their achievements stand as hall-
marks of what is best in the families, schools and communities across
New York State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Melany and Odrine Belot of Kellenberg Memorial High School
upon the occasion of their outstanding achievements in track and field,
and to commend them for their enduring honor they have brought to their
family, school and community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Melany and Odrine Belot.
