LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Steve Hyde upon the occasion of his
designation as the Economic Developer of the Year by the New York State
Economic Development Council

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that individuals who
distinguish themselves in their profession and in service to their
community, significantly enhancing the economic vitality and quality of
life of the community, merit the highest commendation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
commend Steve Hyde upon the occasion of his designation by the New York
State Economic Development Council as the recipient of the Economic
Developer of the Year award; and
WHEREAS, The New York State Economic Development Council (NYSEDC) is
New York's principal organization representing the economic development
professionals who are the leaders of industrial development agencies,
local development corporations, and numerous other agencies and insti-
tutions concerned with economic development in New York State; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the NYSEDC recognizes as the Economic Developer of
the Year an economic development professional who has shown an outstand-
ing record of achievement in development, an unwavering commitment to
the NYSEDC, and outstanding leadership in the profession; and
WHEREAS, Steve Hyde truly merits this high honor; as president and CEO
of the Genesee County Economic Development Center, he received the
Economic Developer of the Year award by the New York State Economic
Development Council (NYSEDC) at the organization's annual meeting on May
24, 2012, in Cooperstown, New York; he also was named vice-chair of the
NYSEDC's board of directors; and
WHEREAS, The NYSEDC cited that since 2003 more than 300 economic
development projects have come to Genesee County generating a signif-
icant amount of capital investment and the creation of approximately
3,149 jobs; and
WHEREAS, On behalf of the people of Genesee County, and the many busi-
nesses and institutions which have benefited from his expertise and
involvement, this Legislative Body is proud to recognize and commend
Steve Hyde for his deep belief in Genesee County, its future and its
quality of life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Steve Hyde upon the occasion of his designation as the Economic
Developer of the Year by the New York State Economic Development Coun-
cil; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Steve Hyde.
