LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Guy Joseph Pasquale,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of his community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Guy Joseph Pasquale of Binghamton, New York, died on June 4,
2012, at the age of 95; and
WHEREAS, Guy Joseph Pasquale was born at his parents' home in Bingham-
ton, New York, into a large family headed by Antonio and Annadomenica
Pasquale, who immigrated to the United States from La Fara Filiorum
Petra in the Abruzzo, Italy; and
WHEREAS, Guy Pasquale honorably served his country in World War II as
a member of the Eighth Air Force when he was stationed in both England
and the Pacific; and
WHEREAS, Guy Pasquale distinguished himself in his profession and by
his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
his community; and
WHEREAS, Home and work were the centers of Guy Pasquale's life; he
worked in the family construction business and then began his career in
the beverage business as a partner in Mission Beverage/Canada Dry; and
WHEREAS, Affectionately known as the unofficial Mayor of Broad Avenue,
Guy Pasquale was the warehouse manager at Mincolla Distributing into his
nineties; and
WHEREAS, As a nonagenarian, Guy Pasquale was driving his car to work
as a daily volunteer at Team World; and
WHEREAS, Guy Pasquale's passion for the New York Mets was legendary;
he lived a rich and rewarding life and took pleasure in the successes of
his family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Guy Pasquale was a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Assump-
tion Church; and
WHEREAS, Guy Pasquale's commitment to excellence, and his spirit of
humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including charita-
ble and civic endeavors; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of his accomplishments and his love of his
hometown, January 25, 2012, was officially declared Guy J. Pasquale Day
in both the City of Binghamton and the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, The last of his generation, Guy Pasquale's brothers, Sammy,
Angelo, Louis, Billy, Aggie, and his sisters, Lena Muldowney, Genevieve
Decker, Bessie Rogers, and Emily Presto, all passed before him; and
WHEREAS, Guy Pasquale is survived by his wife of 65 years, Concetta
Onofrio Pasquale, his children, Maryterese and David Bowen, Leonard and
Dana Pasquale, a special daughter, Anita Marie Pasquale, and Dolores and
Lawrence Koch; and his grandchildren, Kathleen and Michael Galgano,
Christine Pasquale-Urso and Andrew Urso, and Joseph Koch; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Guy Pasquale leaves behind a legacy which will long endure
the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all he
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Guy Joseph Pasquale, distinguished citizen and
devoted member of his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Guy Joseph Pasquale.
