LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Eugene Healy upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by St. John the Baptist Diocesan
High School
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals who have shown a long-standing commitment
to improving the quality of life in their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Eugene Healy upon the occasion of his designation for special recogni-
tion by St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School at its 2012 Gentle-
men's Dinner to be held at the View Restaurant in Oakdale, New York, on
Tuesday, June 19, 2012; and
WHEREAS, A man of singular distinction, Eugene Healy has continually
demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence and diligent
leadership in his unwavering service to both his profession and communi-
ty; and
WHEREAS, Eugene Healy grew up in Bay Shore where he and his brothers
and sisters all attended St. Patrick's School; he then attended St. John
the Baptist from which he and nine of his brothers and sisters all grad-
uated; and
WHEREAS, Eugene Healy is involved with the St. Patrick's CYO basket-
ball program and coaches Islip youth lacrosse; he coached the St.
Patrick's boys' lacrosse team this spring, the first year that the
Catholic Middle School Athletic Association offered the sport; and
WHEREAS, St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School has been very
generous to St. Patrick's School, offering gym and field time, for which
Eugene Healy and the St. Patrick School community are extremely grate-
ful; and
WHEREAS, Upon graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University, Eugene Healy
started his business career at American International Group; after two
years, he moved to the New York Futures Exchange and then to the New
York Mercantile Exchange where he currently trades crude oil options;
and
WHEREAS, Eugene Healy is actively involved with St. John the Baptist;
he was co-chair of the Lacrosse Committee Campaign to assist with the
development of the Athletic Complex; he currently serves as a member of
the Development Committee; and
WHEREAS, Despite his busy professional life, Eugene Healy has been
called upon to contribute his time and talents to countless civic and
charitable endeavors and has always given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Meghan, and their
five children, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and
rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Eugene Healy upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Eugene Healy.
