LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Steven P. Ouzounian, M.D. upon the occa-
sion of his designation as recipient of the Physician of the Year Award
by the Peconic Bay Medical Center

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Steven P. Ouzounian has given not only of his time and ener-
gies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Steven P.
Ouzounian upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Physician of the Year Award by the Peconic Bay Medical Center to be
celebrated at its Oscar Party at The Inn & Spa at East Wind on Saturday,
March 5, 2011; and
WHEREAS, The Chief of Surgery at Peconic Bay Medical Center, Steven P.
Ouzounian also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at
New York College of Osteopathic Medicine; in addition he is a proud
member of Fellow of American College of Surgeons; and
WHEREAS, During Steven P. Ouzounian's tenure as Chief of Surgery,
Peconic Bay Medical Center has received the Healthgrades Five Star
Rating For Excellence in General Surgery and has launched the only
daVinci Robotic Surgery program in Eastern Suffolk County, New York; and
WHEREAS, Steven P. Ouzounian has been called upon to contribute his
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Steven P. Ouzounian has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
commend and recognize those esteemed individuals and institutions within
the medical community for their extraordinary and sustained contrib-
utions to the progress of medicine and the improvement of life; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Steven P. Ouzounian, M.D. upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Physician of the Year Award by the Peconic Bay Medical
Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Steven P. Ouzounian, M.D.
