LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Don and Kathy Frommer upon the occasion
of their designation as receipts of the Outstanding Philanthropist of
the Year Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Mid
Hudson Valley Chapter

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of the community are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Don and Kathy Frommer have given not only of their time and
energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership, and
consequently have been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Don and Kathy
Frommer upon the occasion of their designation as recipients of the
Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year Award by the Association of
Fundraising Professionals Mid Hudson Valley Chapter; and
WHEREAS, The Association of Fundraising Professionals is an organiza-
tion that empowers individuals to help make a difference through philan-
thropy and provides cost-effective education, networking and profes-
sional resources close to home; the Mid Hudson Valley Chapter serves the
counties of Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan and Ulster; and
WHEREAS, Don and Kathy Frommer embody the meaning of philanthropy
through their genuine desire to promote the welfare of others, their
numerous charitable contributions as well as their active participation
in community organizations; and
WHEREAS, Don and Kathy Frommer have made significant contributions to
Orange Regional Medical Center, including a significant donation to the
Peter Frommer M.D. Heart Center at the existing Horton Campus, as well
as the new hospital campus, in honor of Don's father; and
WHEREAS, Don and Kathy Frommer believe in leaving a legacy and sharing
what life has blessed them with; Kathy was recruited by the Orange
Regional Medical Center Foundation to lead the Gift Division of the
Capital Campaign because of her incredible ability to fundraise; and
WHEREAS, In addition to their work with the hospital, Don and Kathy
Frommer have been supporters of many community organizations including
McQuade Children's Services, Inspire, and Braeside Camp; and
WHEREAS, The Frommers have inherited their philanthropic spirit from
their families, and were taught by example the importance of giving back
to the community; and
WHEREAS, Don and Kathy Frommer have been called upon to contribute
their time and talents to countless civic endeavors and have always
given of themselves selflessly; and
WHEREAS, Don and Kathy Frommer have exhibited tireless enthusiasm in
the community and in support of philanthropy; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Don and Kathy Frommer upon the occasion of their designation as
recipients of the Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year Award by the
Association of Fundraising Professionals Mid Hudson Valley Chapter; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Don and Kathy Frommer.
